I can’t believe it’s been four years since I wrote the Photo History II course for the Art Institute of Pittsburgh’s online photography program! The program director recently contacted me to update the course (it covers history from 1940 to the present, so it needs to stay up to date). Wow – that time went by fast! I’m excited to work on the content and remain a part of the program, even though I left full-time teaching almost two years ago so I could photograph more weddings. Photo History has always been one of my passions (I know, I’m a geek), and I definitely miss the classroom and my students. I feel so blessed to be part of curriculum development, especially for a program that has grown so much over the last few years. I feel like I get to give something back to our profession! To those new photographers out there – keep at it! You can learn a lot from studying the masters, and I hope what we write in Photo History II inspires you!
